We are concluding a chapter of Kosovo’s most recent history, to commence the vision of a complete and democratic state. We are opening a new page of our history – containing the aspiration of the citizens of Kosovo as free, dignified and equal people to become part of the great European family.
We are making a life-long dream of freedom, independence and democracy come true, the achievement of which came about through the hard work and the sacrifices of whole generations during all our history.
Built upon the will of the people with the continuous international support, Kosovo has not gone through an easy path. We turned our differences into advantages and while not forgetting our painful past we are building our present to make way for the future. Our state is deeply rooted in European principles. Our state-building is based upon high principles of democracy and in respect of the rights and freedoms and equality of all people who live here.
The future of Kosovo is secure – as an inseparable and equal part of Europe, with a unified political vision that ensures peace and prosperity, a stable future, that of integration and cooperation with all the countries and people in the region. Our road is the road towards integration and built together with EU, which offers Kosovo new opportunities bringing it ever closer.
The clear European perspective for the country will contribute in the deepening of all reforms and in building a mutual commitment serving the acceleration of democratic processes in Kosovo.
The clear European perspective for the whole region, for all its sovereign states, shall create full stability in this part of Europe and shall contribute in the building of bridges of friendship amongst peoples. EU should talk in one voice towards the region and especially towards Kosovo since this would contribute in shrinking the differences between countries.
The independence of Kosovo, the youngest state to appear on the map of Europe, has become a factor of peace and stability; our country is a promoter of good neighbourliness among the countries of South-Eastern Europe and a strong promoter of the democratic reforms in the region.
The democratic state of Kosovo is being built upon strong principles of law and order, and it is committed to win the war against the negative phenomena including corruption and organised crime. Law and order are principles upon which our internal democracy has been built, basis for our overall development, which will contribute in the strengthening of our state and shall rule in every corner of Kosovo.
Kosovo is one and cannot be divided! Kosovo is a place of equal opportunities for everyone. Kosovo is the homeland of all, a country with institutions pertaining to a modern, inclusive and democratic state.
We, the citizens of Kosovo are equal everywhere, in every part of our common state, regardless and without hatred. The ethnic, religious and cultural diversity are treasures of our country.
Today opens the way to the future and we shall take this journey together.
The supervision of our independence ended sealing our development. From now on, we are fully responsible for all the matters within the country, committed to move all the processes ahead and to guarantee our common historic, cultural and religious values. The principles enshrined in the declaration of our independence and in the Constitution are accessible for all the citizens.
We are opening new possibilities for the broad development of our country, possibilities for foreign investments by guaranteeing the safety and wellbeing of everyone. The Republic of Kosovo is a country of huge potentials, of an energetic, strong and intellectual youth, for whom we must guarantee a prosperous future and new work places.
Kosovo has natural resources which we will use wisely for the advancement and building of our country. We aspire to build a prosperous state and a free market, where everyone shall have the opportunity to contribute and where everyone shall have their future.
Our future rests in our own hands and we will build it!
