Drenas, September 20th 2018 – Under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the unvailing of the statues of the Heroes Fehmi Lladrovci and Xhevë Krasniqi- Lladrovci took part today in Drenas.
President Thaçi said that today is a special day for Kosovo and the Albanian nation.
“Xheva and Fehmiu, were. And will remain for the whole eternity the emblem of the Kosovo Liberation Army” said President Thaçi.
The head of state also stated that together with many co-fighters, such as Kadri, Sami and many others, he had the opportunity and the pride, to undertake dangerous crossings of the border together with Xheva and Fehmi, and adding that “ the spirit, the engagements and the unifying and mobilising messages given by Xheva and Fehmi about the Kosovo Liberation Army, for all the Albanians in Kosovo and around the world is incomparable”.
President Thaçi said that the name and deeds of Xheva and Fehmi are all around us, are mentioned everywhere, are respected by every single Albanian citizen and every Albanian family all around the world.
“I have had the privilege to, before meeting Xheva and Fehmi, meet their fathers, uncle Avdyl and uncle Tush, who, through their erudition, their bravery, through their exceptional engagement, helped raise the nations heroine Xheva, in a very patriotic spirit, as well as Fehmi, through his determination as a pupil, as a student and as a commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army”, said President Thaçi,
The President also added that the contribution provided by Xheva and Fehmi were not only to the freedom and independence of Kosovo, as to them and to us freedom and independence is deficient without integration into NATO and European Union.
“Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are on the right track , in a proper manner, in coordination with USA and NATO to, in the forthcoming months, establish the Kosovo Armed Forces and to commence the Partnership for Peace process and our NATO membership. I have the utmost confidence in the Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and all other institutions, will in timely manner, and not into a triumphant one, accomplish its tasks, in legal and constitutional way” said the President.
At the end, President Thaçi also potentiated the need for supporting of the Albanians of Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja, on their request for the unification of this Albanian area with the Republic of Kosovo.
Pursuant to his constitutional and legal competencies, President Thaçi awarded the Jubilary 10th Anniversary of the Independence Presidential Medal, post-mortem, to the fathers of the two heroes, Avdyl Krasniqi and Muhamet Lladrovci.
