The President: Impunity of the Serbian genocide is selective justice

Studime- Vushtrri, May 2nd 2019- The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, participated today the marking of the 20th anniversary of the Studime village massacre and paid his homage at the Memorial Complex of the Martyr’s cemetery.

President Thaçi said that we have gathered here today at the twentieth anniversary of the one of the largest massacres in Kosovo, which was carried out here in Studime.

“Twenty years of pain and tears have passed. Twenty years of expectations, but at the same time of strength and pride. Twenty years of our endeavours for the consolidation of freedom and strengthening of the state of Kosovo. Yet, this pain is unbearable,” said President Thaçi.

The head of state said that with these massacres, Serbia has corroborated the genocide in Kosovo.

“The Parliament of the republic of Kosovo will, I expect rather soon, as proposed by the Speaker Veseli, promulgate a resolution which condemns the genocide perpetrated by Serbia in Kosovo. Not only condemn it, but we will also ask for the justice to be brought to light,” added the President.

The President also expressed his gratitude to the United States Congress and the great friend of the nation, Congressman Eliot Engel, who created the opportunity for all the massacres, sufferings, pain and Serbian genocide to be presented.

“From this very place, we would like to once again thank the United States Congress, the great friend of our nation, Congressman Eliot Engel, who created the opportunity for all the massacres, sufferings, pain and Serbian genocide in Kosovo to be presented, and to hear the unique discussions of tens of Congressmen. Impunity of the Serbian genocide in Kosovo is selective justice, but also an international amnesty for the genocide perpetrated in Kosovo”, said the President.

President Thaçi said that as institutions of Kosovo, we shall make all possible, but according to the President, all we can do in relation to Serbia, is to do it in close partnership with the  USA and others, but above all, with the United States of America.
