The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga took today the decision that the extraordinary local elections for mayor of the Municipality of Kaçanik will be held on 17 June 2012.
The decision was made based on Article 56, paragraph 3 (c) of the Law on Local Government, and Article 4, paragraph 4 and Article 11 of the Law on Local Elections in the Republic of Kosovo, as well as on the agreement with the political parties and the Central Elections Commission.
The Central Elections Commission of the Republic of Kosovo is instructed to undertake all actions necessary for the organization and holding of elections for Mayor of Kaçanik, in accordance with this decision and the applicable law.
