THE ACTING PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO DR. JAKUP KRASNIQI ATTENDS THE INITIAL LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAM CANDIDATES’ GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Jakup Krasniqi attended today the Initial Legal Education Program Candidates’ Graduation Ceremony, organised by the Kosovo Judicial Council.

On the occasion, Mr. Krasniqi held a speech and conferred diplomas upon graduated candidates for judges and prosecutors.

Below you may read the entire contents of the speech held by the Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Jakup Krasniqi:

Honourable Presidency,

Honourable US Deputy Ambassador, Mr. Murphy,

Honourable Chief EULEX Prosecutor,

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a pleasure and an honour for me to be in attendance today and to congratulate you on this ceremony, on the graduation of the second generation of candidates for judges and prosecutors;

It was a pleasure for me when I learned about the fact that you have successfully completed the legal education training program.

I assure you that my feeling of pleasure is not motivated simply by the ceremonial atmosphere, but has empiric ground and life immanence.

Once upon a time, in my early youth, when I happened to face lawfulness and lawlessness, justice and injustice, and this were not an individual experiences only, professionalism and rule of law became an ideal and an aspiration to me, forged on humanism.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Perhaps, influenced by professional and scientific manners, I have noticed that, in the course of development of justice and human society in various social systems, the most abused slogan had turned to be the expression “in the name of the people”. This is an expression that has been used, quite often, by conquerors and various governments and oligarchies, even against the very people on whom they have leaned.

Bearing witness of your work, built on experience and professionalism, I see a forge that will produce cadres that will render a functioning justice into a reality, so I congratulate you.

There is a saying, prosecutors and judges, that success is an outcome of right decisions. Though it is often not easy to take right decisions in real life, the success depends indeed on the right decisions that you will make in serving justice in Kosovo.

Kosovo and its people are in dire need of your institution and work and your new highly knowledgeable and professional staff.

I wish you new successes!
