Prishtina, October 30th 2018 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, upon an invitation from Wolfgang Ischinger, head of the Munich Security Conference, travelled today to Minsk, Belarus, where he will be attending the MSC Core Group meeting, an high level event which brings together main regional actors, heads of state and of international organisations, ministers, MP’s, NGO leaders and journalists, in order to discuss the regional and global security issues.
President Thaçi will also attend the reception laid by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Belarus, Peter Dettmar and the Conference chief, Wolfgang Ischinger, as hosts of the conference.
On Wednesday, President Thaaci is expected to address a panel together with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, moderated by former Ambassador Ischinger and which will be opened by the Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Makei.

President Thaçi will also be talking on the endeavours to build sustainable peace and to strengthen the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and of the region.
Other issues which will be discussed at the Minsk, Belarus, MSC Core Group meeting are also energy security, transnational security, intelligence, Minsk Process East-West relations, arms control and trust building as well as regional conflicts.
