President Thaçi receives the support of Turkey on the increasing of recognitions and on INTERPOL

New York, September 27 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, together with First Deputy Prime Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, in the framework of the UN General Assembly Annual Session, held a meeting with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At this meeting there has been discussed about the opportunity of deepening bilateral cooperation, about increasing trade exchange and the cooperation in other fields of common interest.

President Thaçi has thanked Turkish President Erdogan for the support Turkey has given to Kosovo in the process of increasing recognitions and the membership into international organizations.

He has received the support of Turkish President Erdogan on Kosovo’s membership process in INTERPOL, thus contributing to the increasement of global security.

On the other hand, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he will be personally engaged in increasing the number of recognitions for Kosovo and in the process of membership in international organizations.

At the end President Thaçi has informed the Turkish President about the final phase of the dialogue on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, and about the necessity of reaching a final and legally binding agreement.

In this case, the Turkish President has said that he supports the achievement of an agreement between the two countries.

President Thaçi has continued the numerous meetings with world leaders who are participating at the UN General Assembly Annual Session.
