Prishtina, July 31 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today congressman Devin Nunes, Chairman of the Intelligence Committee at the US Congress and George Pappas, Senior Advisor to the Intelligence Committee, accompanied by US Ambassador Delawie.
President Thaçi thanked congressman Nunes for the continued support of the United States for Kosovo.
“We are partners and friends, we have special relationships, because we share and are engaged for the same values”, said President Thaçi.
President Thaçi also stated that Kosovo in just one decade as a state has achieved great successes in building democratic institutions, economy and the rule of law.
“The signing of the SAA and obtaining the candidate status for the MCC are a confirmation of these achievements of Kosovo”, he said.
President Thaçi further said that Kosovo is a factor of stability in the region and confirmed Kosovo’s commitment to peace and stability.
“We are uncompromising in the fight against radicalism and terrorism”, stated President Thaçi.
Congressman Nunes said that the United States remain committed to sustainable peace and stability in the region of South Eastern Europe.
President Thaçi at the end emphasized that the American presence in the Balkans is essential for the peace, development and integration of the region.
