Prishtina, October 23rd 2018 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the US State Deputy Assistant Secretary Matthew Palmer.
President Thaçi and Palmer discussed bilateral relations, political developments in the country, Euro-Atlantic integration processes, Kosovo’s membership in international organisations, KSF and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
President Thaçi thanked the US official for the support that the United States of America are providing to the people and the state of Kosovo.
Speaking in relation to the final stage of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, president Thaçi said that after the agreement between Macedonia and Greece, the time has come for a historic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
“It is a right momentum to conclude a historic agreement, which ensures mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia”, said the President.
US State Deputy Assistant Secretary Matthew Palmer assured President Thaçi that US supports the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia.
President Thaçi pointed out that US remains the most strategic partner of Kosovo in its irreversible journey towards Euro-Atlantic membership.
