Prishtina, September 02, – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the Special Representative of the EU, Nataliya Apostolova, to whom he wished good luck on the new assignment.
President Thaçi stressed that Kosovo in the past years has made tangible progress in the implementation of the aspirations of the citizens of Kosovo for membership in the European Union. “With your support we will overcome the remaining challenges as well”, added Thaçi.
The new head of the EU office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, has reaffirmed the support of the EU for Kosovo’s European perspective.
“I look forward to work with you in advancing the agenda of the EU for Kosovo, on issues such as the implementation of the SAA, visa liberalization, human rights and the continuation of the dialogue for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Prishtina, where the EU is committed equally with both parties. I am particularly encouraged by agreeing to have regular meetings to announce what the EU means for the citizens of Kosovo”, said Apostolova.
At this meeting, President Thaçi emphasized that visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo should happen as soon as possible, so that they can also become part of the free movement in Europe.
