President Thaçi received Italian Ambassador, Piero Sardi, at a farewell meeting

Prishtina, December 9, 2019 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received the Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo, Piero Sardi, at a farewell meeting, to whom he expressed recognition for the advancement of the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Italy, during the period he was an Ambassador in Kosovo.

“Special and sincere thanks for your personal commitment to the advancement of bilateral relations between our two states”, said President Thaçi.

“As a Kosovo, we are grateful for your contribution and Italy’s overall contribution to the building of lasting peace in Kosovo and in our region”, he added.

President Thaçi also expressed his gratitude for Italy’s consistent stance related to Kosovo and its continued support.

“We value your consistent stance and principled support”, stated President Thaçi, focusing on the sensitive issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo.

“Italy has maintained the same and supportive stance”, he affirmed.

On the other hand, Ambassador Sardi stated of being satisfied with the cooperation he has had with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo while having been Ambassador of Italy, as well as with the role of Italy for peace and stability.

President Thaçi has wished Ambassador Sardi good luck in his future professional engagements.
