Prishtina, October 31st – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the member of the French Senate, Hélène Conway-Mouret, with whom he discussed the developments in Kosovo and in the region.
President Thaçi said that Kosovo has undergone an excellent electoral process and is now awaiting the formation of the new government.
“Kosovo has an advanced democracy,” said President Thaçi and added that after the certification of the electoral results, he expects the new government to be formed very quickly, which would in turn move forward other processes important to Kosovo.
President Thaçi emphasized that Kosovo and the western Balkans expects a more concrete support by EU.
“Kosovo has fulfilled the conditions for the visa liberalisation and is awaiting the deserved decision by EU and its member states,” said President Thaçi.
Senator Conway-Mouret said that France supports Kosovo’ and Balkans European perspective.
President Thaçi also added that Kosovo has no other alternative but to engage for the realization of its aspiration to become an EU member state.
