Prishtina, September 18, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today a delegation of MPs of the Austrian Parliament, headed by Stefan Schnöll.
President Thaçi and the Austrian MPs talked about the bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and Austria, visa liberalization, the dialogue on normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, and about the process of the integration of Kosovo and the region into the European Union.
“We are making efforts to reach a peaceful agreement with the Serbian side in Brussels. It is very difficult to find a compromise, but it is not impossible. This compromise must be achieved for the sake of peace, stability and the common Euro-Atlantic future of our citizens and countries”, said President Thaçi.
On the other hand, the Austrian Parliament MPs also stressed that peace and stability in the Western Balkans can only be strengthened through dialogue and European vision.
President Thaçi thanked the Austrian MPs for the continued support for Kosovo, adding that thanks to the support of Kosovo’s friend states, our citizens will soon be moving visa-free, free in the Schengen area, where they will feel equal to all within the big European family.
