New York, September 27th – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, accompanied by the first deputy Prime Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, during the annual session of the UN General Assembly, held a meeting today with the President of Switzerland, Alain Berset.
President Thaçi thanked the Swiss president for the support that his state has provided to the people of Kosovo in the period before the war and during the independence and state building periods.
“The large diaspora in Switzerland is a connecting bridge and a permanent guarantor of our cooperation” said President Thaçi.
He has also received the Swiss support for Kosovo’s membership in important international organisations.
The issue of the final stage of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which would open the path to membership for both countries sin European Union was also discussed at the meeting.
President Thaçi has continued with meetings with many world leaders, who are attending the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
