President Thaçi met with the Archbishop of the Holy See, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia

Prishtina, March 21, 2017 – At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the Archbishop of the Holy See, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, who is also President of the Papal Council on the Family at the Holy and founder of the Sant’Egidio Community, is on a two day visit in Kosovo.

President Thaçi received today the Archbishop of the Holy See, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, whom he thanked for his contribution during the 90’s, but also for the post-war period and after Kosovo’s independence.

“We are very grateful for the support you have given to the people of Kosovo. We share the common values such as reconciliation, peace, cooperation and tolerance with the Holy See”, said President Thaçi.

The return of Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia to Kosovo, according to President Thaçi, is a continuation of the support he has given to the people of Kosovo for two decades now.

“Kosovo in these two decades has been transformed into a modern society and state. We are a model of coexistence between religions and communities. We have achieved this also through the support of our friends”, said President Thaçi.

On the other hand, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, said he was very happy with the visit to Kosovo, after many years.

He has said that he will continue supporting the people of Kosovo.

President Thaçi also said that Kosovo will continue the cooperation with the Holy See, especially in the promotion of peace and coexistence.
