President Thaçi meets with Assistant-Secretary Mitchell, obtains US support

New York – President of the Republic of Kosovo, accompanied by the Prime Minster Ramush Haradinaj and deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli, met with the US Assistant State Secretary for Europe and Eurasia, Wess Mitchell.

Expansion of bilateral agreements between the two countries, advancement of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic agenda, the process of the KSF transformation into the Kosovo Army and the final stage of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia were the issues discussed at the meeting.

President Thaçi thanked Assistant Secretary Mitchell for the unwavering US support to the people and the state of Kosovo, during all time period, from liberation to state building and now on strengthening of Euro-Atlantic perspective.

“USA is our eternal ally. We have projected and finalised all projects together. We shall never swerve from this path. We shall walk together towards the challenges that await us”, said President Thaçi.

Touching on the issue of the final stage of the dialogue, president Thaçi said that US support to this project is crucial, the achievement of the final and legally binding agreement.

The US Assistant State Secretary for Europe and Eurasia Wess Mitchell assure the President of Kosovo that USA will continue its all-encompassing support to Kosovo.
