President Thaçi meets Albanian Minister of Finance, they discuss increased trade exchange

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received today Minister of Finance of the Republic of Albania, Arben Ahmetaj.

President Thaçi and Minister Ahmetaj discussed ways of deepening cooperation between the two countries, especially in easening of doing business and in strengthening economic and trade ties.

The head of state said that there should be more dynamic trade between Kosovo and Albania.
 
“Good relations between the two countries should be further strengthened through economic and trade cooperation. Such cooperation will directly contribute to the economic development in both countries”, President Thaçi said, adding that trade exchange has increased, but that it is not at the desired level.

On the other hand, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Albania, Arben Ahmetaj, after congratulating President Thaçi on the new post, and on the recommendation for visa liberalization as well as membership in the UEFA and FIFA, said that as part of efforts to intensify cooperation, a joint round table will be organized today, focusing on interstate dialogue and doing business, with particular emphasis on the challenges of access to our markets.

President Thaçi stressed that there is room for increased cooperation in many subsectors of the economy and that Kosovo and Albania have always shown willingness to overcome trading difficulties.
