President Thaçi invites Canadian investors to KosovoToronto, September 13 The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, participated at the 10th jubilee edition of the International Economic Forum Toronto Global Forum. Tuesday, September 13, 2016
Within this forum, President Thaçi developed meetings with many participants from the entire world. President Thaçi held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, Mamady Youle, whom he thanked for the recognition that this country has made for Kosovo and for supporting Kosovos membership in international organizations.
The independence of Kosovo has created peace and stability in the region and Kosovo is already recognized as a factor of peace in the world. With Prime Minister Youla we agreed to establish diplomatic relations between our two countries as soon as possible, said President Thaçi.
President Thaçi also met with the founder of the Global Economic Forum of Toronto, Gil Rémillard, with whom he exchanged ideas about the possibilities of the presentation of Kosovo in the activities that this forum develops.
Kosovo is a country with potential and numerous opportunities for foreign investors. The Law on strategic investment will open up opportunities for the arrival of powerful investors from Canada as well. The stability and security in Kosovo promise for our country to become basis of Canadian investments in the region, said President Thaçi.
On the other hand, Gil Rémillard, has said that Kosovos participation at this years forum is a good opportunity of meeting with the representatives of powerful Canadian companies.
The participation of Kosovo has also raised interest among the other participants, said Rémillard.
During his stay in Toronto, President Thaçi also met with the Prime Minister of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, with whom he discussed about the need for increased cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, culture and about the community of the diaspora, whose members live and operate mainly in Toronto, Hamilton and London.
There is a continuous increase of the presence of Kosovo in the Canadian province of Ontario, like the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Ottawa, the participation at the largest annual fair in the world in the field of mining and minerals held in Toronto, said President Thaçi.
The Toronto Global Forum is an international conference which promotes the dialogue on national and global issues.
This forum is held under the auspices of the International Economic Forum of the American continent (IEFA).
IEFA organizes annual summits where heads of state, governors of central banks, ministers and global economic decision-makers gather.
The Toronto Global Forum has gathered over 130 speakers and 2600 delegates from over 40 countries.
