President Thaçi departs for an official visit to Austria, received by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz

Prishtina, May 29th, 2018 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, departed today for an official visit to Austria, where he will be received by the Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz.

President Thaçi and Chancellor Kurz will discuss the opportunities for the expansion of the economic cooperation between the two states in political, economic, educational and cultural fields.

President Thaçi will also be asking for Austrian Chancellor’s support for the expedition of Kosovo’s European perspective, as Austria will take the consequential lead of the European Union.

The final stage of the dialogue on normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, process facilitated by EU and supported by countries amicable to Kosovo, will also be a subject of discussion at the meeting.

During his stay in Vienna, President Thaçi will also be meeting the former Austrian President, Heinz Fischer, and the former Chancellor, Wolfgang Schüssel.

Kosovo’s head of state will also be meeting with many other Austrian friends, who have contributed to the process of Kosovo’s liberation and independence, and will also undertake meetings with other personalities of Austrian public and political life.
