Prishtina, 6 April 2018 – The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, hosted today a delegation of the Roma community, led by the Head of the Roma Party, Albert Kinolli.
While congratulating them on the International Day of Roma Community, President Thaçi stated that despite the increased support and modern and affirmative legislation for communities in Kosovo, the Roma community are still face difficult living conditions.
“The situation has improved, but there is still a lot of work to do, to jointly improve the well-being of the citizens of all communities, but with special emphasis of the Roma community”, stated President Thaçi.
While, the Head of the Roma Party, Albert Kinolli, expressed his satisfaction with the involvement of the Roma community in state institutions, he emphasised that the citizens of this community need greater support.
“Even on the festive days of the Roma community and of our culture, we will try to raise awareness on the problems that our community faces”, said Kinolli.
President Thaçi added that it is more than necessary to involve the Roma community in all social domains so that everyone feels equal in our society.
