President Thaçi concluded the visit to New York

September 23, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has concluded his five-day visit to New York, where he has conducted numerous bilateral meetings with heads of states and of various international organizations at the United Nations General Assembly week.

During his stay in New York, at the invitation of President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, President Thaçi, together with the First Lady of the State, Lumnije Thaçi, were received by the American Presidential couple, President Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump. The Head of State had also a brief meeting with President Trump.

The Head of State has met world leaders from countries which have recognized and from those which have not recognized Kosovo, where he sought support for the consolidation of the state position on the global political scene, for new recognitions of the country and for membership into important international organizations.

President Thaçi has conducted bilateral meetings with the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, with the Acting Assistant Secretary for European Affairs at the US Department of State, Elizabeth Millard, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yee, with the leaders of the Western Balkan states at the meeting organized by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mirosllav Llajçak, King Abdullah II of Jordan, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Kotzias, the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Pllenkoviq, the President of Slovenia, Miro Cerar, the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, the Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat, the President of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, the Foreign Minister of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan, the Foreign Minister of Sudan, Ibrahim Ghandour, the Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Michaëlle Jean, the Prime Minister of Andorra, Antoni Martí, the President of Mauritius, Ammenah Gurib, the President of Guyana, David Arthur Granger, the President of Sao Tome and Principe, Evaristo do Espírito Santo Carvalho, the Prime Minister of Togo, Komi Sélom Klassou, the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Manasseh Sogavare, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sir Louis Straker.
