Prishtina, June 30th, 2016 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi has received today a delegation of the Iowa National Guard, led by Major General Timothy Orr.
President Thaçi thanked General Major Orr for his support to Kosovo through a partnership between Kosovo and Iowa, which was initially focused on military cooperation.
“This cooperation has expanded rapidly in other areas. Today, the partnership between Kosovo and Iowa has turned into a model for all. It has also grown thanks to your direct commitment”, President Thaçi said.
He added that as President of Kosovo he will support any project and ideas arising from this partnership.
Meanwhile, Major General of Iowa National Guard, Timothy Orr said that Kosovo is his second homeland. “What we have achieved in the five years of partnership between Kosovo and Iowa is exceptional. But without your support, Mr. President, this success would not have been so great”, Major General Orr said.
For the outstanding contribution in the field of security, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi awarded Presidential Medal of Merit to Major General Timothy Orr.
