Prishtina, August 26 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi has taken the decision today to announce the early elections for the Assembly of the Reublic of Kosovo and has assigned Sunday, October 6, 2019, the date for the holding of the elections.
In the signed decision it is said that “based on the constitutional and legal responsibilities, President Thaçi has decided that the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will be held on October 06, 2019.”
“The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kosovo is instructed to undertake all the necessary actions for the organization and holding of the elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, in accordance with this decision and the legislation in force”, it is said further in the decision, which is signed by President Thaçi.
During the day, President Thaçi decreed the dissolution of the VIth Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
