President Thaçi and the Greek top diplomat speak about the strengthening of bilateral relations

Prishtina, April 12, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikolaos Kotzias.

President Thaçi has said that he appreciates the positive and principled position of Greece for the European perspective of Kosovo.

“We are grateful for the support of Greece for membership into international organizations and we request for this support to continue for our membership in INTERPOL, UNESCO, NATO, the European Union and the United Nations as well”, said President Thaçi, adding that “it is very important that Greece maintains the constructive attitude”.

The Head of State also talked with Minister Kotzias about the importance of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, which strengthens peace in our entire region.

On the other hand, the Greek top diplomat said that the normalization of relations between the states in the Western Balkans, but also in the European Union itself, is very important for all states.

“Greece supports the European integration plan at all levels”, stated Kotzias.

President Thaçi and the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikolaos Kotzias, have also discussed about the deepening of economic cooperation.

“Kosovo has created a quite attractive business environment and Greek investors are welcome”, said President Thaçi.

During the meeting of President Thaçi with the Foreign Minister of Greece there was also discussed about the process and the modality of opening the Kosovo office in Athens, which would help strengthen the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Greece.
