President Sejdiu meets the President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov

“Republic of Kosovo is committed to cooperating closely with all the countries of the region”, the President of Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu said during a meeting today in Zagreb with the President of Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov.

At the meeting, President Sejdiu congratulated President Ivanov on the successful conclusion of visa liberalization process for the citizens of Macedonia, pointing out that the experience gained by this neighboring country may serve as a model to Kosovo on its road to European integration.


Having praised highly the relations between the two countries, President Sejdiu expressed his commitment to strengthening these relations further. In this context, he assured President Ivanov that Republic of Kosovo would soon appoint its ambassador to be based in Skopje, so as to complete the circle of diplomatic relations with the two countries.


On his part, President Ivanov affirmed Macedonia’s commitment to supporting our country in the process of its integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures. “The future of our region is in Europe and we will engage together in ensuring that our countries become a part of the European Union and NATO as soon as possible”, President Ivanov pointed out.
