President Pacolli receives a International Monetary Fund delegation at a meeting

President Behgjet Pacolli received at a meeting a delegation from the International Monetary Fund headed by Mr. Adam Bennett, Senior Adviser to the European Department and also composed of Mr. Costas Christou, Head of European Department for Kosovo, and Jose Sulemane, European Department representative in Kosovo.

During the meeting, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli thanked the IMF for all the assistance that the respectable international institution had and was providing to Kosovo.

President Pacolli apprised IMF representatives of the commitment of institutions of our country to working closely with the IMF and to the current and future programs.
 
President Pacolli also referred to obstacles and difficult social situation prevailing in Kosovo and asked for guests’ understanding concerning the accomplishment of objectives that had not been accomplished through joint programs with the IMF yet.

He said government of Kosovo was committed to working closely with the IMF in finding acceptable solutions that take the social situation in the country into account.

On the other hand, having expressed the readiness of the IMF to cooperate with institutions of Kosovo in the future as well, Mr. Adam Bennett, Senior Adviser to the European Department, said IMF aimed at providing for Kosovo’s long-term development and budgetary sustainability.

Mr. Adam Bennett emphasised that the majority of objectives set by last year’s program were accomplished and that work was being done on finding solutions for new issues that have been raised.
