President Pacolli meets the leader of the PDIU Shpëtim Idrizi

On the second day of his official visit to the Republic of Albania, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Behgjet Pacolli met with Mr. Shpëtim Idrizi, leader of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU).

“We expressed congratulations of the party that we represent on his new assignment and, first of all, for on a pragmatic and realistic approach that he has adopted to the national and economic unification, by urging our governments to undertake immediate and realistic initiatives and to really help achieve, folklorism left aside, what all Albanians aspire to achieve” – Mr. Idrizi said.
“We need to see ourselves as economically unified, as a great market made of seven million Albanians. Owing to his experience, Mr. Pacolli is urging our governments to see this in a more structured way” – he added.
“In addition” – Mr. Idrizi emphasised – I assured Mr. Pacolli of my consideration for what he has done for the recognition of Kosovo and I believe his election as President will contribute to new recognitions of Kosovo.
“We both agreed that Kosovo needs to keep the collective memory of crimes that Milosevic’s violent regime has committed against the people of Kosovo alive” – the leader of the PDIU, Mr. Shpëtim Idrizi said.
On the other hand, President Behgjet Pacolli said: “We discussed political and economic situation and problems that Kosovo and Albania are facing. We discussed human rights and now we also enjoy the strong support of the international community, which is backing our major cause”.
“We discussed the sizable Albanian market, in whose inclusion as a topic of discussion I have insisted. Kosovo will not allow such an initiative to remain in words only, but will start to work intensively on it. We will form a group that will start working as of now and I believe that by the next time we meet we will have the first results of the creation of a wide market that will go beyond the borders of Albania and Kosovo and include Macedonia and Montenegro” – President Pacolli said.
