President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Ambassador of Afganistan to Sofia, accredited to Kosovo on non-residential basis, Mr. Siaullah Mahmud, who presented his letters of credence to Madam President.
President Jahjaga expressed her gratitude to Afgani Ambassador for the immediate recognition of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo, right upon its declaration.
President Jahjaga emphasized that Kosovo is a joint success of the institutions, the people of Kosovo and its international friends. On this issue, Madam President also emphasized the need for help by the Islamic Republic of Afganistan on further consolidation of the statehood of Kosovo and its membership in international institutions.
Ambassador of Afganistan in Sofia, Mr. Siaullah Mahmud, expressed the readiness of his country to expand the cooperation with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
