President Jahjaga met with the Deputy Head of the USA mission in the UN, Ambassador Rosemary DiCarlo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in the U.S. and the general concul of Kosovo in New York, Madam Arta Rama, met in New York with the Deputy Head of the U.S. mission to the UN, Ambassador Rosemary DiCarlo.

President Jahjaga and Ambassador Di Carlo discussed about the current developments in Kosovo, the process of integration, the consolidation of the statehood and that of the new recognitions as well as the participation of Kosovo in regional and international initiatives. President Jahjaga and Ambassador DiCarlo also spoke about the challenges of Kosovo and in particular those in the three municipalities in the north.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo said that the implementation of the Ahtisaari Plan is the best solution for the three municipalities in the north, which provides and guarantees the rights and freedoms for the Serbian community in this part of the country and stressed the need to integrate them into the institutions of the country. She said that the implementation of the rule of law throughout the territory of Kosovo, with special emphasis on the three municipalities in the north, guarantees stability and overall progress.

President Jahjaga stressed that the participation of Kosovo in regional and international initiatives crucial particularly in the security field.

The Deputy Head of the U.S. mission to the UN, Ambassador Rosemary DiCarlo, praised the achievements and progress in all areas of Kosovo and stressed that it is important that Kosovo remains committed to its Euro-Atlantic path. She said that the U.S. support Kosovo in all fields and committed itself for its participation in regional and international initiatives, especially those organized within the UN.
