The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, who is staying in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates, where she is participating at the World Summit on the Future of Energy, held a special and very friendly meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, under whose auspices the summit is being held.
President Jahjaga and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan discussed about a range of issues of interest.
President Jahjaga thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan for the recognition since 2008 our country from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and for the continued support that this country has given and continues to give our country, with specific emphasis for the presence of UAE the soldiers within the KFOR in Kosovo.
Madame Jahjaga requested from the United Arab Emirates to influence their friend states to recognize the state of Kosovo. Meanwhile, she sought the support of the Emirates towards the as soon as possible membership of Kosovo in the Organization of the United Nations and other international institutions.
President Jahjaga in particular stressed that Kosovo offers very favorable conditions for foreign investment and in this plan she requested from the United Arab Emirates to invest in our country, given the resources of our country and especially the new and educated labor force.
She also stressed that cooperation, very well so far, can be expanded even in more areas, such as culture, education and other fields.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, who is also chairman of Abu Dhabi and also holds other important positions in the state, emphasized that the United Arab Emirates have helped Kosovo without hesitation so far and this assistance, will continue and will intensify in the future.
He offered President Jahjaga his full support and that of the United Arab Emirates in all processes the Republic of Kosovo is going through.
