The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madame Atifete Jahjaga sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Republic of Italy, Gorgio Napolitano, and the people of this country, due to the death of the former Italian President, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.
In the telegram it is stated:
Honorable President Napolitano,
With deep sorrow we received the news of the death of the former President of the Republic of Italy, Mr. Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.
The death of President Scalfaro is a great loss for his family, for the people of the friend country of Italy, for the institutions of this country as well as for all the friend peoples of your country.
The leadership and the citizens the Republic of Kosova will always remember President Scalfaro for his unsparing contribution and assistance for Kosovo, in the most difficult times.
On my behalf and on behalf of the institutions and people of the Republic of Kosovo we express our most sincere condolences.
