The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga strongly condemns the damaging of the Jewish cemeteries in Prishtina.
The damaging of cemeteries presents an act in complete contradiction with the traditions and values of the people of Kosovo, based on tolerance and full respect for all the dead and all the monuments.
The act of damage to the Jewish cemeteries, towards which the citizens and institutions of Kosovo have shown special care, is also in contradiction with the attitude of the Albanian people, which, even in the worst periods, have come up in defense of the Jews.
The President of the Republic urges the security mechanisms to capture the authors of this hideous act and bring them before justice.
