President Atifete Jahjaga received the OSCE High Commissioner Mr. Knut Vollebaek

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga received today at a meeting the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Mr Knut Vollebaek, with whom she discussed the integration of minorities, dialogue and Euro-Atlantic integrations of Kosovo.

President Jahjaga expressed her gratitude to OSCE for the support they have offered to the institutions of Kosovo and said that communities in Kosovo have their rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of the country which are in full compliance with the highest international standards. Institutions of Kosovo are dedicated to help the community that resides in the north of the country in order for them to integrate into the institutional life of the country and benefit from the integration in the same manner as have other communities benefited.

Madam President also said that Republic of Serbia can help in this process, by ceasing the financial support it provides to the parallel and illegal structures in those municipalities and by implementing the agreements reached during the dialogue process between Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, facilitated by EU.

In our endeavours to fulfil the obligations and criteria put forward by the European Union, we as institutions of Kosovo are dedicated to create conditions that ensure equal treatment of all communities, and for this reason we have supported and facilitated the process of return of all the citizens that have left Kosovo.

Mr. Vollebaek on the other side expressed the readiness of OSCE for continuous support for the institutions of Kosovo related to the integration of all communities into society and improvement of the conditions of their lives.
