The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today a delegation of the Parliament of Turkey, led by a member of this parliament, Rifait Sait.
President Jahjaga praised the help that Turkey has given and continues to give to Kosovo in all fields and said that it is necessary to further deepen the cooperation. She said that Kosovo is a country built on the principle of citizenship and respects the values of each community.
President Jahjaga stressed that the membership of Kosovo in regional initiatives and international mechanisms is essential and said they there is being worked on the European agenda for the country.
Mr. Rifait Sait, on behalf of the Turkish Parliament’s delegation, said that his country pays special importance to Kosovo, and praised the cooperation between the two countries as a very good cooperation. He said that for Turkey peace and stability in Kosovo also means peace and stability throughout the Balkans.
Mr. Sait said that Turkey will support Kosovo in all processes and will be a strong advocacy for Kosovo in the Caucasian and Islamic countries.
