New York, September 24th 2018 – First Lady of Kosovo, Lumnije Thaçi, is accompanying the President of the Republic of Kosovo at the United Nations General Assembly.
First Lady of Kosovo, will be attending today the reception organised by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, who is expected to address the participants on the subject of “A global call to action on the world drug problem”, on the fight against the narcotics and where he will be meeting the heads of states from all around the globe.
Tomorrow, on September 25th, upon an invitation by the president and the establisher of the “Fashion 4 Development” global platform, Evie Evangelou, First Lady of Kosovo, Lumnije Thaçi, will be attending the eighth official annual meeting of the First Ladies.
During this event, First lady of Kosovo will be meeting the homologues form all around the world.
“Fashion 4 Development” platform is established in January 2011 in support of the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals and of the “Every Woman Every Child” movement lead by the former UN General Secretary, Ban Ki-Moon.
The aim of the “Fashion 4 Development” is to promote and utilize the strength of the fashion and beauty industries, by applying the creative strategies for sustainable economic growth and independence of communities through the expression of fashion.
Awards will be presented at the ceremony to women who have contributed in their respective fields.
Carmen Busquets, Edwina Dunn, Ellie Goulding, Amber Heard, Francine LeFrak, Stuart McCullough, Melanie Steiner are among those receiving awards.
On September 26th, upon an invitation by the First lady of the USA, Melania Trump, First lady of Kosovo will be attending the cocktail organised by Mrs. Trump, attended by the wives of leaders from around the world.
