President Jahjaga met with the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gül

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga met today, in Istanbul, with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül.

President Jahjaga praised the help and support that Turkey is giving to Kosovo in all processes through which country is going through. She said that both countries should expand mutual cooperation especially in trade.

President Jahjaga said that Kosovo has built good relations with all its neighbors and is playing an important role as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo said that the future of all the Balkan countries is in the European Union and they should help each other in the integration processes. President Jahjaga said that the Republic of Kosovo has demonstrated its commitment in this path of integration and with the dialogue with the Republic of Serbia which is being held with EU mediation.

The Turkish President Abdullah Gül stressed his country’s commitment to further deepen political and economic cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Turkey.

He praised the progress made in Kosovo in the process of state building and reiterated his commitment that the Turkish state will continue to support the international recognition and consolidation of the Republic of Kosovo, in all regional and international forums.

President Gül and President Jahjaga also discussed about the possibility of a visit that the Turkish President will make to Kosovo and the ways of further deepening cooperation between the two countries.
