Ladies and Gentlemen,

The manifestation held on the honour of the Kosovo Police Day gives us all a feeling of pride and honour because we are marking the establishment of a most respectable institution, dedicated to the point of sacrifice, of an honest institution, which is courageous and full of sense of bravery in undertaking of the noble duties in service of the people and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

Kosovo Police is an institution which makes us proud and which the citizens do trust, they help and cherish them, as they are the sons and daughters of this nation, and who accomplish their duties as a mission with highest professional and human standards.

The Kosovo Police, in its life cycle, from its establishment, training period and its development, earned the respect by the concrete tasks they undertook in the field, with its engagement and good organisation to act preventatively, and to prove to all those that intend to break the law and order that they will be faced with a well organised structure that upholds the law in each and every case and in all circumstances.

Officers and Policemen- you proved yourselves during all the educational and training stages, by showing an immense success in reaching the standards in use by the most developed European countries and the United States of America.

Kosovo Police today, in its organisation, structure and equipment is on the par with the most advanced and professional police forces. As in no other place, the relation between a policeman and a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo is an example of respect and dignity, an example of respect for legal procedures and an example of mutual trust and understanding.

Police of our state, today successfully controls Kosovo’s borders and undertakes the integrated border management, has good cooperation with the police forces of all our neighbouring countries and acts as a hard barrier in the prevention and halting of any type of smuggling and organised crime, whether entering or passing through the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

Only due to your laudable work and engagements, our country is not a source country for the exportation of organised crime and other cross-border crimes.

Your Honours,

Building of democratic processes, institutional action, education and creation of public opinion in our country are preconditions for the police to become more efficient in its work. State policies, created in full cooperation and coordination with the United States of America and European Union, are a guarantee for a safe and peaceful environment, thus contributing strongly to the global security architecture, with a professional and de-politicised approach to /by the police.

Please allow me to,

Honour and commemorate all the Policemen that lost their lives while in service to the nation and motherland;
To honour the family members that gave us their most beloved, who with honour served with the Kosovo police, whose actions will be a guideline for the actions of coming generations.

Honourable participants,

In our journey towards Euro-Atlantic integrations, the rule of law, efficient war on organised crime and corruption are preconditions not only for a peaceful and safe environment, for development and prosperity and in guaranteeing the human rights and freedoms but also standards that our country must accomplish to be able to join the European Union. There remains lot more work to be done in our membership path, but we will successfully accomplish them by completely uprooting these negative phenomena that endanger our future.

I wish you a lot of success in your work. I wish you advancement in your trainings and professional education.

In this mission, you and your families will have the assistance and support of the institutions.

Let us enjoy this day together!
