Prishtina, February 16, 2018 – In the continuation of the congratulations on the occasion of the marking the tenth anniversary of the declaration of Kosovo’s independence, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, also received a congratulatory telegram from the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Independence, it is my pleasure that on behalf of the Italian people and on my personal behalf to convey to you the best wishes of prosperity and well-being for the Republic of Kosovo.
During these ten years, Prishtina and Rome have built up a strong bilateral relationship. Italy has repeatedly reconfirmed its proximity to Kosovo, following – as evidenced by our participation in international missions such as EULEX and KFOR – the strengthening of the institutions and its security.
Moreover, Kosovo can count on Italy’s support on the path of European integration since its independence, a goal to be achieved through the full normalization of relations with neighboring countries, especially with Serbia, and the adoption of internal reforms which for purpose have the consolidation of law and order
Wishing you full success in the ceremonies for the celebration of this important anniversary, where unfortunately I will not be able to participate, once again I express my heartfelt congratulations to You and to the Kosovar friend people.
