The President decorated General Reinhardt with the Military Medal for Service in Kosovo

Prishtina, November 14 - The President of the country, Hashim Thaçi, has decorated today former KFOR Commander, Klaus Reinhardt, with the Military Medal for Service in Kosovo.

President Thaçi has said that General Reinhardt is a man of peace, security and stability in postwar Kosovo.
“General Reinhardt is the General of peace, stability and joint commencement of the building of the new institutions in Kosovo”, said President Thaçi.
On the other hand, the former KFOR commander, Klaus Reinhardt, said he was very proud and excited about the granting of this medal to him, which he said he has never expected.
“I was here 17 years ago. At that time there was nothing, not a single school, no hospital, chaos. Now, after 17 years, I see the radical changes. I am very proud to have helped somehow to this. I am very proud to have worked with you. You have done a great job in the promotion of Kosovo”, said General Reinhardt.
According to General Reinhardt, Kosovo has been a totally different place and it had to be reorganized.
“At that time, we have built a government with the current President of Kosovo. If today we see where your country stands, a very big progress ahead has been made. You have achieved that from a part of Serbia to build a functioning state. It functions, because you have a President, who, along with the others, have worked and have never surrendered to push things forward”, said General Reinhardt.
President Thaçi has thanked General Reinhardt for his utmost and historical commitment for peace in the country, for the construction of a multiethnic society and the integration of everyone in the institutions of the country.
