The First Lady of Kosovo meets in New York with her counterparts

The First Lady of Kosovo, Lumnije Thaçi, who is accompanying the President of the Republic of Kosovo in the week of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, has met numerous counterparts from different countries of the world at various events that are taking place this week.

The First Lady of State, at the invitation of the President and founder of the global platform “Fashion 4 Development”, Evie Evangelou, attended the 7th annual First Ladies Luncheon.

During this event, the First Lady of Kosovo met with counterparts from Montenegro, Turkey, Bulgaria, Mauritania, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and so on.

The “Fashion 4 Developmen” Platform was established in January 2011 in support of the Millennium Goals for the Development of the United Nations and the Global Movement “Every Woman, Every Child”, a movement that was led by the former UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon.

The purpose of “Fashion 4 Development” is to promote positive social changes and to utilize the power of the fashion and beauty industry by implementing creative strategies for sustainable economic growth and community independence around the world through fashion expression.

At a ceremony organized by this platform prizes were awarded to women who have contributed to the above mentioned areas. Among the decorated are also the world famous supermodel and founder of “Fashion 4 Relief”, Naomi Campbell, French model and actress, Farida Khelfa, and others.
