The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Jakup Krasniqi received today at a meeting a delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, headed by Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania.

The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hasani, also attended the meeting.

“We had a friendly meeting with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania and with the members of his delegation, including the President of our Constitutional Court.

We are glad that communication, cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two courts are continuing with an intensive pace”, the Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Jakup Krasniqi said.

“As a man of politics, my wish and objective is to see a rise in constitutionality and lawfulness in Kosovo and Albania and an even better momentum in this regard. I congratulated them on the current cooperation between our constitutional courts. Certainly, with professionalism, constitutionality and lawfulness will reach levels that are unreachable for the moment and will increase constantly”, Mr. Krasniqi added.

“Developing a democratic society implies rule of law and order, constitutionality and the need to defend the Constitution from various violators. So, once again, I wish You, Mr. President, and the constitutional courts of Albania and Kosovo success in all the fields that You deem beneficial to cooperation and development”, he said.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja said that the meeting discussed cooperation between constitutional courts.

“It was our pleasure to find that the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, though young, has managed to build its own identity, to be a court that has and will abide by the Constitution and laws of the country and to rise above interests and politics”, he said.

“It is a court that maintains a fruitful cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania and courts of other countries in the region and beyond. Concerning the Constitutional Court, I promised the President that it will enjoy our unreserved support for any kind of project that needs our assistance. At the same time, I assured the President that we will always be cooperative, and I wish the Constitutional Court of Kosovo success in its noble work on ensuring the implementation of the Constitution and other laws. I also wish that the President will succeed in managing the current political situation in Kosovo and I hope and believe that he will and that things will get much better”, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja said.
