“We only have one major vision and this is a vision of a democratic Kosovo that belongs to all its citizens, a Kosovo integrated into the European Union and NATO” – the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu said today at a joint conference with Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and the Head of ICO, Mr. Peter Feith, following a working lunch with representatives of the International Steering Group for Kosovo (ISG).
“Today we had important events that are in the interest of Kosovo. Representatives of member states of International Steering Group for Kosovo are in Prishtina. All these countries have contributed to and recognized the independence of Kosovo and are engaged in providing for a fast growth in Kosovo” – President Sejdiu.
Further to the previous information provided by the two ministers, this was a good opportunity for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Local Government Administration, the Prime Minister, Mr. Feith and the Speaker of Parliament to inform them on the general evolutions in our country and to display our spirit of cooperation with the international community, especially with EULEX, KFOR, and all individual countries, as well as to raise some issues that I consider should represent the main focus of our future engagement and international support” – President Sejdiu added.
“Elections are nearing and we do want the crucial support of the international community. These are the first elections to be organized by the local institutions and, of course, we need some support, like all other countries in the region do” – he said.
“Relations that contribute to the process of decentralization and creation of new municipalities and relations that support our position on integration processes and our request to proceed quickly with the preparation or provision of visa liberalization road map to Kosovo are essential. We only have one major vision and this is a vision of a democratic Kosovo that belongs to all its citizens, a Kosovo integrated into the European Union and NATO” – the President of the Republic of Kosovo pointed out.
