Prizren, 23 April 2016 – President of the Republic orf Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, attended today an event organized on the occasion of Kosovo Turks National Day in Prizren.
President Thaçi said that the Turkish community is evidence that Kosovo is a country of all, of each and every citizen, regardless of ethnicity or religion.
“We have turn the centuries-old tradition of coexistence and tolerance into values upon which we have built our society” , President Thaçi said.
He thanked the representatives of the Turkish community who have worked with other communities, in all sectors of life, in politics, in civil society and the media, to the benefit of the new Kosovo.
“Without their commitment we would not have had this harmony and understanding that we have today”, President Thaçi stressed.
Among attendess of tonight’s celebration in Prizren were also the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş, President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, ministers Yağcılar and Agani, and MP and numerous representatives of the Turkish community in Kosovo.
