President Thaçi: The Kosovo Police, an example for the whole region

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, on the seventeenth anniversary of the Kosovo Police, said that the Kosovo Police has turned into a force which, in the best way, symbolizes the vision for Kosovo.

“It is a multiethnic force, with the best ever gender representation, with the highest standards of professionalism, an example for Kosovo and the entire region”, declared President Thaçi.

He, on this day, recalled the successes of the Kosovo Police, but also its sacrifices.

“Not few police officers have fallen on duty. The memory for them will live forever and will be a motive to build a police force and a state that all the citizens of Kosovo desire”, said President Thaçi.

Statement of President Thaçi on the seventeenth anniversary of the establishment of the Kosovo Police:

“Seventeen years ago, on this date, the foundations of one of the most successful institutions of the state of Kosovo, the Kosovo Police have been laid. From the first 176 police officers, that constituted the first generation who completed the training at the Police School in Vushtrri, today the Kosovo Police has grown into a body that covers entire Kosovo and serves to all the citizens of Kosovo, in every corner of Kosovo, regardless of their affiliation.

The Police School in Vushtrri has continued to train Kosovo’s police officers according to the highest standards. Meanwhile, the Police has turned into a force which, in the best way, symbolizes the vision for Kosovo. It is a multiethnic force, with the best ever gender representation, with the highest standards of professionalism, an example for Kosovo and the entire region.

On this day we remember the successes of the Kosovo Police, but also its sacrifices. Not few have fallen police officers on duty. The memory for them will live forever and will be a motive to build a police force and a state that all the citizens of Kosovo desire.

Therefore, we congratulate all the members of the Kosovo Police for their day, the 6th September, and say to them: We are proud of you. Thank you!
