Halifax, Canada, November 18 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, accompanied by the Minister of the KSF, Rrustem Berisha, met today with the Minister of Defense of Canada, Harjit Sajjan, who is also the host of the International Security Conference in Halifax, with whom they talked about the cooperation between Kosovo and Canada in the field of defense and security.
President Thaçi expressed gratitude for the support that Canada has provided to Kosovo for two decades.
“We are grateful for the support in building peace and the building of the state”, said President Thaçi.
“Kosovo today is a promoter of dialogue and peace in the region”, said President Thaçi and added that “the state of Kosovo is consolidated internally and continues to consolidate on the international scene”.
Minister Berisha of the KSF said that Kosovo and Canada are working to deepen cooperation in the defense and security sector while working on the finalization of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Kosovo and Canada.
The Minister of Defense of Canada, Mr. Sajjan, said that the promotion of communication and dialogue as a means of overcoming the conflict was to be appreciated and thanked President Thaçi for the shown leadership.
“The promotion of dialogue and peace make you an example for the region”, stated Minister Sajjan.
President Thaçi said that Kosovo will remain grateful for the support that Canada has given to the state and people of Kosovo and invited to deepen cooperation in all sectors.
