President Thaçi receives the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Numan Kurtulmuş, they rate the communities as values of Kosovo

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, who is on an official visit to Kosovo, with a delegation from Ankara, where he will attend the celebration of the National Day of the Turkish community in Kosovo.

President Thaçi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Kurtulmuş, congratulating him, the Turkish delegation and the Turkish community on their national day.

Deputy Prime Minister Kurtulmuş said that it is “a pleasure to see the achievements of the state of Kosovo since the declaration of independence” and confirmed Turkey’s support for Kosovo with concrete projects, but also through lobbying in various countries and international organizations for the recognition of Kosovo.

President Thaçi stressed that relations between Kosovo and Turkey are excellent and that there are no open issues between the two countries.

“We have excellent cooperation with the Turkish community in Kosovo”, President Thaçi said, adding that “Kosovo is and will be a country of all communities living here”.

President Thaçi earlier during the day met also with a group of political and civil society representatives from the Turkish community, from whom he learned about of the preparations for marking the Day of the Turkish community in Kosovo.

Reaffirming its support for the Turkish community in Kosovo, President Thaçi said that “Kosovo belongs to all its citizens” and that “this is the value and power of Kosovo”.
