President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received today Majlinda Kelmendi and Nora Gjakova, medal winners at the European Judo Championships, the President of the Kosovo Judo Federation, Agron Kuka, and the coach, Driton Kuka, to congratulate them on their latest achievements.
“It is a pleasure to host you and congratulate you on your success. Your success is also the success of Kosovo”, President Thaçi said.
Speaking about the work and achievements of the Kosovan judoka, President Thaçi said that “Kosovo in proud of your success”, adding that “you are the true image of Kosovo, of the youth working diligently even when conditions are not the best, to achieve success”.

Agron Kuka, President of Kosovo Judo Federation, spoke about the work done, despite the limited conditions, while coach Driton Kuka underlined the importance of the achievements of the two judoka vis-à-vis their prospects at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The two judoka, Majlinda and Nora, stressed the tough competitions, but also their joy with the success achieved. They said that they are happy with the opportunity to prove themselves also at the Olympic Games in Rio.
President of the Republic of Kosovo said that “the state of Kosovo will continue to support athletes and the sport” and wished success to the judoka and their federation.
“We wish every success to Majlinda and Nora at the Olympic Games. We are confident in their success”, President Thaçi concluded.
