President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has received today a delegation from Italy led by the Italian Minister of Defence, Roberta Pinotti.
President Thaçi thanked Minister Pinotti for the very good cooperation between Kosovo and Italy.
He said that Kosovo has turned into a factor of stability in the region and it is e lader in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
Speaking about the achievements in the security sector, President Thaçi said that thanks to the measures taken by Kosovo authorties, no new Kosovan was registered to have joined terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq in the past six months.
Minister Pinotti expressed her satisfaction with the role of Italy in Kosovo and supported the cooperation in the field of security and in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
President Thaçi urged for the support of Kosovo’s membership in security institutions, such as Interpol, to ensure a faster and more efficient communication and cooperation.
