Prishtina, October 06 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a meeting the President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Kenneth Wollack, accompanied by the Director for Central and Eastern Europe, Robert Benjamin and the Director for Kosovo Alexander Chavarria.
President Thaçi thanked the Heads of the NDI for the support they have given to the development of democracy in Kosovo.
The President added that the support of the NDI has been important not only in the establishment of the institutions, but also in creating a culture and awareness of democratic rights in Kosovo.
On the other hand, NDI President, Kenneth Wollack, said that this Institute will continue supporting the further strengthening of democratic institutions in Kosovo through various projects.
The President has requested from the NDI that in addition to the support for the institutions to continue the support for the civil society, as the main pillar of the development of democracy in our society
