President Thaçi received the Head of EU observers, they express their satisfaction about the electoral process

Prishtina, June 08 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the Head of the EU Election Observation Mission in Kosovo, Alojz Peterle, with whom he discussed about the preparations for the general elections to be held in Kosovo this Sunday.

President Thaçi expressed appreciation for the EU for having responded positively to his invitation to send an election observation mission to Kosovo and thanked Mr. Peterle for the commitment to monitor the elections in every corner of Kosovo.

The President stated that he is happy with the campaign.

“I am optimistic that once again we will have an exemplary electoral process”, declared President Thaçi, but added that “the news about the intimidation of candidates and voters in the northern part of Kosovo has been perturbing”.

Mr. Peterle announced that the EU has sent 100 observers to Kosovo who will monitor the elections throughout the territory of the country, and thanked the CEC and the institutions of Kosovo for the co-operation.

President Thaçi said that “whoever will win the elections, Kosovo will have a pro-Western, multi-ethnic and stable government that will continue reforms in all sectors”.
